OUR VISION WAS TO CREATE A SPACIOUS, HIGHLY CONTEMPORARY FAMILY HOME WITH A SENSE OF OPENNESS AND SEAMLESS CONNECTION BETWEEN INDOOR AND OUTDOOR ENTERTAINING AREAS, AND BETWEEN GROUND AND FIRST FLOOR LIVING SPACES.
The home was required to sit one metre above natural ground level to comply with flood level regulations. Rather than a constraint, this became an opportunity, allowing us to introduce beautifully considered raised garden beds and elevated outlooks over the rear yard and pool area.
Inside, an open-tread staircase takes centre stage, set against a soaring double-storey feature window that draws abundant natural light deep into the living spaces. A restrained material palette pairs warm honey-blond timber with crisp white render, creating a refined yet inviting atmosphere. A bespoke light sculpture suspended above the stairwell lends the home a distinct gallery-like quality.
Our client offers the following thoughts on the process and outcome… “During the design phase, with much patience on their side, feedback and wrestling with how to accommodate some key design needs, we were provided with a very exciting design and plan. We are very much living the dream and loving our new home.”
